President William Ruto is in Ethiopia for a one-day working visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and deepening cooperation on regional peace and security.

Ruto who arrived Tuesday morning was warmly received in Addis by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. Abiy said the visit reflected the deep, historic and brotherly bonds shared by Kenya and Ethiopia.

He noted that their discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exchanging views on peace and security in the Horn of Africa.

“Today, I welcomed President William Ruto of Kenya for a one-day working visit, reflecting the deep, historic and brotherly relations between our two nations,” Abiy said.

“During our meeting, we focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional peace and security in the Horn of Africa, reaffirming our shared commitment to stability, dialogue and African-led solutions.”

The visit by President Ruto underscores the long-standing and close relations between the two neighbouring countries.
