Tanzanian musician Harmonize has sent a strong message to media personalities and the public, demanding that his name never be mentioned in association with his former boss, Diamond Platnumz.

The Kondegang CEO made his stance clear via a series of videos posted to his Instagram stories, addressing a perceived lack of respect for his independent status.

Harmonize was the first artist signed by Diamond Platnumz to his WCB Wasafi Records label. However, the relationship ended dramatically in 2019 when Harmonize exited the label.

Harmonize revealed that he is exhausted by constant discussions surrounding his past ties.

While acknowledging and appreciating that Diamond brought him into the game, he noted that the former boss also asked for his money.

“Yes, he brought me into the game. I really do understand and appreciate that. But by the end of the day, he asked for his money, even more extra money,” he said angrily.

The exit fee itself was substantial. Diamond wanted him to pay "600 million shillings," which Harmonize stressed was "a lot" at the time. He insists that he has since paid his dues.

“He took me to BASATA. He wanted me to pay him 600 million shillings. At that time, 600 million shillings was a lot.”

A Big Fish in His Own Sea

The primary reason for the musician’s frustration is the insistence on positioning him "under" Diamond. Harmonize sees himself as established and successful in his own right, running his own label.

“You can’t keep mentioning my name under Diamond’s every day,” he said. “Like I'm grown. I'm a big fish, bro. Like I have everything.

He believes the constant association detracts from his current achievements. He emphasised that he is focused on his own path, working on a "me versus me" mentality.

Harmonize stated that he doesn't look at what anybody else is doing, focusing on what he has and what he deserves.

Furthermore, he alleged that his former boss "always looks at me" and "always praises me for my downfall". He strongly asserted that Diamond does not deserve the credit implied by linking them.

A Legal Warning

Harmonize is serious about cutting ties completely and has issued a clear warning to the media and personalities who continue to make the association. He confirmed he spoke to his lawyer about the matter.

“Do not mention my name under him. You know what I'm saying? He doesn't deserve that.”

He warned that he will "sue" and "open a case" against anyone who mentions his name under Diamond. He explained that playing with this issue is equivalent to playing with his career. Harmonize has made it clear that he will not tolerate being put down.

“I'm not joking,” he stressed regarding the legal action. He maintains he is "bigger than him myself" because of the work he is doing independently.
