Kenyan podcaster Oga Obinna has addressed parental obligations following an emotional public plea by his fourth baby mama, Tallie. The video response follows a public broadcast by Tallie, known online as Mama Ella, requesting financial assistance to establish a home business.
During a TikTok livestream on Friday, 23 October 2026, Tallie broke down in tears while discussing her financial struggles as a single mother.
Emotional Appeal on TikTok
Tallie holds a degree in journalism and mass communication. She explained that she submits job applications daily and reaches out to brands for content creation partnerships. However, she noted that the media industry remains saturated for graduates who lack personal connections or individual media channels.

Rather than seeking direct financial handouts, Tallie requested capital to launch a small pyjama business from home. She explained that earning an independent income would allow her to care for her daughter, Ella, without relying on others.
"I don't stand to benefit anything that is meant for my child," Tallie stated during the broadcast.
Tallie also revealed that online harassment regarding her physical appearance had pushed her to a difficult emotional place. She urged viewers not to project their personal unhappiness onto others.
When viewers began making financial contributions during the session, Tallie expressed visible gratitude. Social media recordings of her broadcast subsequently recorded over 5,700 likes and more than 700 comments.
Obinna Clarifies Co-Parenting Boundaries
Following public discussions surrounding her appeal, Oga Obinna released a video outlining his perspective on financial support and parental duties. He emphasised that a father's financial responsibility is directed towards the child rather than a former partner.
Addressing parental expectations, Obinna stated:
"Your baby mama is not your responsibility, unless you're still sleeping with her. Then that is your woman. But if you're not sleeping with her and she's moved on, or you guys broke up, or you guys are not in good terms, or whatever, your child is your responsibility. Your baby mama is not your responsibility,” he said.
Infrastructure Analogy and Co-Parenting History
To illustrate his point, Obinna drew a comparison between child maintenance funds and public infrastructure expenditure.
"So ukimtumia pes ana iende kwa kutengeneza nywele, hiyo ana deviate kitu inafaa iende kwa mtoto.”
The former couple first met in 2016 and share a young daughter. Tallie previously clarified during a social media Q&A session that she occasionally stays overnight at Obinna's home solely because their daughter is young, though they live in separate residences.
She noted that while co-parenting remains a work in progress, both parents endeavour to put their child's welfare first.
