The data highlights asset ownership among Kenyans who have already retired, based on the question, “Do you own any of these assets?”

A house in the rural tops the list at 22  per cent, followed by land in the rural at 18per cent.

Urban assets remain lower, with 13 per cent owning a house in the urban and 6 per cent owning land in the urban.

Twelve per cent own a business, while 8 per cent have commercial livestock.

Both commercial farms and rentals stand at 7 per cent, and commercial property at 6 per cent.

Notably, 1 per cent reported having no assets.
