Lang’ata Member of Parliament, Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has opened up about the emotional struggle he continues to face following the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Speaking during The Dialogues with Jagero podcast, the legislator revealed that he has not yet come to terms with the loss, describing how the quick sequence of events left him without closure

."I'm in pain to date. I've not even had closure and accepting his death because of how fast things were done," Jalang’o said during the interview.

He recounted that the period following Raila’s passing was overwhelming, both for him personally and for many of the late leader’s close allies and supporters.

Raila’s Decision for Swift Burial

Jalang’o further revealed that the decision to lay Raila Odinga to rest within seventy-two hours was deliberate and came from Raila himself.

According to the MP, Raila knew that delaying his burial could have led to national instability due to the growing propaganda and tension that followed the news of his death.

“Raila perfectly knew that if he wasn't laid to rest within seventy-two hours, Kenya would have been chaotic due to the propagandas going on,” Jalang’o stated.

He explained that despite the speed of the funeral arrangements, the move helped calm the nation and prevent political divisions or unrest that could have erupted.

Jalang’o said that while the decision was necessary for the country’s stability, it left many of those close to Raila emotionally unprepared, as the rapid proceedings offered little time to process the loss.
