From College Talent to Comedy Star
Star Chebet, born Esther Chebet, began her professional acting journey around 2010, after being discovered at a national drama festival while in college.
Her raw talent and charm led her to the cast of The Real Househelps of Kawangware, where she quickly became a fan favorite for her witty humor and lively character portrayal.

Her success on the show opened new doors, and she soon transitioned into digital content creation, producing comedy skits and lifestyle clips that attracted massive engagement.
By 2022, Chebet had built a strong online following, known for her authentic personality and unfiltered creativity.
Fame, Family, and Mental Health Battles
Behind her bright persona, Chebet’s life was marked by deep personal pain. Raised by a single mother after a difficult relationship with her stepfather, she spoke about the emotional toll of her upbringing in an interview with in a previous interview with Radio Jambo.
“My mum came with me to her marriage. My relationship with my step-family was not easy,” she once shared. “At some point, my mum became single... Depression and anxiety came from that.”
Chebet also disclosed that her mother frequently spoke about her own mortality — words that would later haunt her.
“Zikikosa wenyewe tunazifunga tu by end month,” she recalled, referencing a cryptic phrase her mother used, perhaps reflecting her awareness of life’s impermanence.

As the firstborn, Chebet struggled under the weight of grief and family responsibility, leading to a worsening of her depression and anxiety — conditions she has been candid about since her teenage years.

Disappearance and Spiritual Confessions
In January 2025, Star Chebet’s once-bustling social media accounts — boasting over 1.2 million followers on Facebook, 428,000 on Instagram, and 300,000 on TikTok — suddenly vanished.
The disappearance left fans deeply concerned, prompting widespread speculation about her wellbeing.
Her earlier admissions may have offered clues. In 2024, Chebet posted a series of emotional confessions about her struggles with addiction, mental health, and what she described as encounters with spiritual forces.
“Life has been moving too fast... I’m not sure if I’ll be okay by the end of the day, but I’ve found myself in a situation I can’t easily undo,” she wrote.
“In my search for peace of mind, I think I connected with the wrong energies... I made new friends who were on a completely different path, and I got involved in things I didn’t expect.”
She later revealed she had been pressured into silence after unknowingly being drawn into what she described as a cult-like group.
“My mind was used to open a portal in Kericho... Some of you know I’ve been spiritually threatened and silenced,” she wrote.
“I could hear voices in my room, and it turns out my voice was used to channel a spirit I didn’t know... Protect your energy.”
Her confessions, though unsettling, revealed the depth of her vulnerability — a young woman navigating the intersection of fame, spirituality, and mental health under intense public scrutiny.
A Quiet Comeback
