Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has once again made headlines after sharing a powerful message about success, hard work, and dealing with unsolicited advice in the social media era.

In an interview with Silva Kido that quickly gained traction online, Khaligraph opened up about his mindset toward growth and resilience, explaining that he takes pride in his journey and the effort behind every milestone.

“I always believe in trusting the process. Sometimes ni vizuri pia kujulisha watu si accident, ni bidii,” he said, stressing that people often mistake success for luck without understanding the persistence and sacrifice that come with it.

“Social Media Has Changed How People Criticize”

When asked whether he listens to advice from fans and online users, Khaligraph was candid in his response.

“Before social media, we used to have positive criticism, but with this social media era, wanasema ni positive criticism but basically it’s hating. Hio advice usinipatie, si tushaset — I don’t need that,” he stated.

The rapper, born Brian Ouko Omollo, is known for his unapologetic confidence and direct communication style — traits that have defined his brand and earned him respect as one of Kenya’s most consistent performers.

Not the First Time He’s Rejected Advice

This is not the first time Khaligraph has addressed the topic of unsolicited advice. In the past, he has made bold statements discouraging fans from offering suggestions about his personal life or music career.

In one memorable response to constant messages in his social media DMs, Khaligraph sarcastically told fans to “Take that advice to your grandmother!” — a remark that quickly went viral.

The comment reflected his no-nonsense approach to criticism and his belief in trusting one’s own process rather than following public opinion.

How Khaligraph Has Handled Criticism in the Past

Over the years, Khaligraph Jones has developed a reputation for addressing criticism with composure and confidence.

Even earlier, in 2017, when accused of accepting low pay for performances, he firmly defended himself, saying, “I’m an A-list artiste… a lot of people look up to me, so I’m not going to accept peanuts just because it’s quick money to get.”

In October 2023, when he faced online backlash for building a lavish home in Nairobi’s Karen area, he brushed off the mockery, writing on social media, “Wacha nitafute pesa nimalize nyumba. Sikujua mjengo unaweza patia watu wengine content,” showing his determination to stay focused despite online chatter.

In July 2025, when Tanzanian rapper Wakazi released a diss track aimed at him, Khaligraph chose not to retaliate immediately. Instead, he set a challenge, saying he would only respond if the song surpassed 100,000 views — a statement that reflected his disciplined and strategic mindset rather than impulsive reaction.
