President William Ruto on Tuesday addressed the United Nations Social Development Summit in Doha, Qatar, on behalf of the African Group.

The President said the leaders endorsed the Doha Declaration and joined the Group of 77 and China in reaffirming their shared commitment to equity, dignity, and a fairer world for all.

They called for global solidarity to confront inequality in social development, to build inclusive societies that put people at the centre of progress.

“While the world has made strides in reducing poverty and expanding access to essential services, unequal systems of trade, finance, and technology continue to hold many nations back,” he said.
