Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu stepped out in style as she joined a long list of political heavyweights and celebrities at Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang’s engagement ceremony to Chanelle Kittony.
The glamorous event, held in Trans Nzoia County, marked the couple’s koito — a traditional wedding ceremony — where Chesang officially tied the knot just a day after delivering dowry to his bride’s family.
Nyamu’s Fashion Statement
The event’s theme was lilac with cream accents, and guests did not disappoint. Among those in attendance were President William Ruto, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, CS Wycliffe Oparanya, Senator Ledama Ole Kina, and Governor James Orengo.
The ceremony also attracted a host of entertainers including Oga Obinna, Mulamwah, and Terence Creative, making it one of the most talked-about events of the weekend.
Nyamu, who had teased her followers earlier with a travel photo captioned “6 am flights are a test for me. It’s koito day, ladies and gentlemen,” later wowed fans with her final look.
The mother of three donned a stunning maroon off-the-shoulder gown that perfectly complemented the day’s regal setting.

She accessorised the look with a fascinator, carried what appeared to be a walking stick, and was seen walking alongside her bodyguards — a detail that drew plenty of admiration and curiosity online.

Chesang, a young politician known for his flair, stood out in a white shirt paired with a purple embroidered vest and matching fedora, while Chanelle looked radiant in a royal purple and white gown. The bridal party mirrored the couple’s elegance, with groomsmen in purple suits and black hats.

President Ruto’s Heartfelt Message
President William Ruto, who was the chief guest, delivered a warm message celebrating the young couple. Speaking after Chanelle’s family, the Head of State described Chesang as one of his political sons and said he was honoured to witness the union.
“I must say this is my first time to see Chanelle, and I confirm she is indeed beautiful. Allan is a handsome young man — God has put these two together, and congratulations on your wedding,” Ruto said.
A Call to Responsibility
Ruto also used the platform to advise young men to embrace responsibility through marriage, saying many were “enjoying marriage perks without commitment.”
“If you are man enough, you must be man enough to be responsible. The woman you love, marry her; otherwise, stop wasting people’s time,” he added, drawing laughter from guests.
He further urged Chesang and Chanelle to get kids immediately, joking that “Papa wa Roma said we are expecting grandchildren.”
