A Kenyan TikToker identified as Luiz Moraz has captured the attention and emotions of millions after releasing a moving AI-generated animation showing the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga reuniting with his father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, and former presidents in heaven.
The short animation depicts a serene, celestial setting where Raila is warmly received by his late father — Kenya’s first vice president — and former presidents Mwai Kibaki, Daniel arap Moi, and Jomo Kenyatta.
The leaders are seen engaging in heartfelt conversation, symbolizing unity and peace beyond politics.
Moraz’s animation has since gone viral on TikTok and other social media platforms, with Kenyans describing it as both touching and healing, a digital farewell that reflects the deep affection the country continues to hold for Raila following his passing earlier this month.
The Artist Behind the Viral Tribute
The animation follows another powerful tribute a digital artwork by Collins Omondi Okello, a Kisumu-based visual artist.
Okello’s viral illustration, titled “Sunset of the Enigma,” portrays Raila’s face emerging over a glowing horizon, symbolizing both departure and legacy.
In an interview, Okello revealed that he created the piece as a personal expression of grief and admiration for the late leader.
However, he later expressed frustration after discovering his artwork being reproduced on T-shirts, posters, and merchandise without credit or permission.
“Recognition is the least you can offer. Coming up with an artistic idea isn’t easy,” Okello stated.
He has since registered copyright for the artwork with the Kenya Copyright Board to protect it from unauthorized use — a move that has reignited debate on the protection of creatives in Kenya’s digital era.

Kenyans React with Emotion and Reflection
Online reactions to both the animation and the artwork have been overwhelmingly emotional. Many Kenyans described them as comforting tributes that help the nation process its collective grief.
“Hearing his voice..says I haven't heal from his death..we will forever miss our BABA.'' A tiktoker commented .
''He'll forever live in our hearts .'' Another one added .
''Love this love the content creator huyo msee ni mafia....also it was a quick walk through history lesson.''
Others lauded young Kenyan artists like Moraz and Okello for using modern tools from AI technology to digital illustration to immortalize moments of national importance.
