Container traffic at the Port of Mombasa rose sharply in 2024, growing by 23.5 per cent to reach 2 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs), according to data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.

This marks a significant rise from 1.62 million TEUs recorded in 2023 and continues a steady upward trend seen since 2020.
