Kenya is set to make a strong mark at the upcoming All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)2025, with nine artists securing nominations across major categories.

The awards, which celebrate African music excellence, will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, from November 25 to 30, 2025.

Leading the Kenyan representation is Wapendwa Muziki, whose gospel anthem Amefanya Mungu earned them a nomination, showcasing the group’s impact in the inspirational music space.

Veteran rapper Nyashinski has also been recognized, earning a spot in the Best African Lyricist/Rapper category for his socially conscious track Busy.

Known for his poetic lyricism and storytelling, Nyashinski’s nomination underscores his consistency and dominance in the rap scene.

The celebrated rap trio Wakadinali are also in the spotlight, thanks to their hard-hitting track Kum Baba, which has resonated strongly with fans across East Africa.

On the urban pop and street vibe front, Iyanii bagged a nomination with his breakout hit Kifo Cha Mende, a song that has become a cultural anthem in Nairobi’s music scene.

Rising star Bridget Blue has also earned a nod for Best Female Artist in Eastern Africa, a significant recognition that highlights the increasing prominence of female voices in Kenya’s music industry.

Other Kenyan talents nominated include Bensoul, a household name in Afro-soul, who teamed up with V-Be on the infectious Kautamu Flani, earning them a slot in the competition.
