Prominent city lawyer Silas Jakakimba has once again captured public attention after posting a photo of himself enjoying a humble meal with his ex-wife, Florence Adhiambo, just weeks after the two announced their separation.

The pair had publicly revealed their split on July 17, 2025, after three years of marriage. In a joint statement, they described the decision as a difficult but mutual one, made after deep reflection and with the guidance of close family and spiritual leaders.

Both emphasised their commitment to protecting their family’s well-being and requested privacy during the transition, adding that no further public remarks would be issued.

The Viral Lunch Post

Despite that declaration, Jakakimba stirred fresh speculation on Saturday, August 23, when he shared an undated photo of himself and Florence seated at a modest eatery.

The two were pictured before plates of ugali, fish, soup, and vegetables, while the restaurant’s owner, Anyango, stood beside them.

In his caption, the lawyer heaped praise on the joint, cheekily dubbing it “the JW Marriott of the Lower Karen area.” He added that even Florence approved of the spot:

“Here at Kenyatta Market at Anyango’s, the JW Marriott of the Lower Karen area, where fish from Subaland is served hot with hot ugali. Florence and The Fisherfolk recommend Anyango's fish anytime.”

The post left social media users divided. Some questioned whether the photo had been taken before their separation, while others commended the pair for maintaining an amicable relationship.

A number of fans also praised Anyango’s fish joint, which Jakakimba’s post appeared to endorse.

Background on the Separation

In his initial announcement, Jakakimba described the separation as one reached “with respect for one another” and expressed gratitude for the support of their families and spiritual leaders.

“This decision was reached mutually and with respect for one another, noting with deep appreciation and gratitude the immense love and support from both sides of our Innermost Families and Spiritual Leaders as we sought to make this decision public,” the statement read in part.

The lawyer further emphasised the need for privacy, reiterating that neither he nor Florence would issue further public statements on the matter.
