Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz recently revealed a significant career move as he turned down a USD 250,000 offer from Jay-Z's Roc Nation.

Instead, he opted to continue his USD 5 million 360-degree partnership with Warner Music. This decision highlights a big shift in the African music scene and what it means for artists in emerging markets.

Responding to claims that Tanzanian artists were being overlooked by international labels, Diamond took the opportunity to explain his contract details.

"I finished my contract with Universal for one million dollars. Roc Nation offered me $250,000 and I refused. Warner offered me five million dollars and I signed with Warner, and that's who I'm working with now."
