The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) has re-advertised for three vacant driver vacancies to enhance operational efficiency.

KEMSA, a State Corporation established through an Act of Parliament, is mandated to procure, warehouse and distribute drugs and medical supplies for prescribed public health programs, the national strategic stock reserve, essential health packages and national referral hospitals.

The vacancies, classified under reference number KEMSA/HRA/DRVR/ADM/7/2025, are open to applicants willing to serve in various KEMSA operational bases across the country.

The selected drivers will report to the Transport Officer and be responsible for transporting KEMSA staff, stakeholders and medical commodities as assigned.

KEMSA outlined that successful candidates will also be responsible for maintaining the vehicles, adhering to assigned routes, promptly reporting any faults, updating mileage logs and ensuring the safety of passengers, goods and the vehicles both on and off the road.

"We are looking for disciplined and flexible individuals who can manage time effectively while upholding the highest standards of road safety and accountability," KEMSA noted.

The position is on contract terms and falls under job grade SA10.

According to the notice issued by the authority, the recruitment aims to align the role with the approved career guidelines and ensure only qualified and competent drivers are engaged.

To qualify, applicants must have a minimum KCSE grade of D plain, a valid BCE driving license free of endorsements, at least three years of hands-on driving experience, and a trade test certificate (Grade III). Additional certifications in defensive driving, first aid or occupational safety will offer a competitive advantage.

KEMSA clarified that individuals who had applied and qualified under the earlier advert for the same position will automatically be considered in the current recruitment process.

"Applicants who previously applied and met the requirements under the earlier reference will not need to reapply," KEMSA stated.

"Their applications remain valid and will be reviewed alongside the new submissions."

The deadline for application is July 25, 2025.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit police clearance and tax compliance certificates in line with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Successful candidates may be deployed to Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Garissa, Meru, Nyeri, Kakamega, Kisii, Eldoret or Nakuru, depending on organizational needs.

“All interested candidates are encouraged to send their detailed CVs, relevant certificates and testimonials to the Chief Executive Officer, Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, at the Nairobi headquarters,” the advert read in part.

KEMSA has reaffirmed its position as an equal opportunity employer and urges all qualified individuals to apply.
