Kenyan TikTok creator Arnold Malcolm is back in the spotlight — this time with an unexpectedly viral track titled "Risasi ya Mguu" (Bullet to the Leg), inspired by President William Ruto’s controversial directive to police officers.

Just hours after the Head of State told police to “shoot and break the legs” of protesters engaging in vandalism, Malcolm hit the road — literally — to respond the best way Gen Z knows how: through satire and sound.

In his signature move, the content creator belted out a snippet of the track from behind the wheel of his iconic lorry, turning Ruto’s “shoot the leg” comment into a catchy hook. “Risasi ya mguu, risasi ya mguu…” he chanted, to a beat that screamed banger alert. Though the song is yet to be officially released or produced, that didn’t stop Kenyans from flooding the comments with reactions that were equal parts clever, angry, and downright hilarious.

Hon. William Ruto (parody account):

“Mkue crious Kenya jameni ?”

(Please be serious, Kenya—this is too much!)

“From wantam to wanlegee, aki Wheeliam ??”

(From ‘One Term’ to ‘One Legged’—oh, Wheeliam!)

This isn’t the first time the internet has turned Ruto’s soundbites into viral memes or musical moments. From Zakayo to Wantam (One Term) and even Wheeliam, Gen Z has mastered the art of remixing political statements into Gen Z anthems — much to the chagrin of government loyalists.

But Risasi Ya Mguu feels different. It’s not just funny — it’s biting. It’s a parody packed with protest, a bop born out of brutality. With the rising tension around police violence, abductions, and killings during youth-led protests, Malcolm’s track has become more than content — it’s commentary.

As Kenyans debate whether the president's statement was a gaffe or a direct policy threat, TikTok has made up its mind. And the verdict? Risasi ya mguu iko kwa repeat.
