In a candid interview with Natalie Githinji, on Beatz n Buzz media personality Prudence Chepkirui commonly known as King Kalala shared her story.

When asked how her life was after quitting work in NRG radio, she said, “Quitting my job was a lot. There was a part of life where it was difficult. Once I told my parents, they ended up paying my rent which almost accumulated to 100k since I couldn’t go to upcountry.”

In the previous year Kalala announced on her social media handles her departure from NRG radio.

She had shared a message to her fans, “After much thought, I have decided to part ways with NRG Radio," she said in her statement. "This decision wasn’t easy, but I believe it’s time for me to explore new directions and focus on exciting new ventures ahead.”

The two continued with their questions and Natalie asked Kalala whether she has a soft side when it comes to a relationship.

“I do. That is in every relationship. I will look at you when you are broke and give you a chance. But I will not be with you when you are selling me dreams and ambitions.” She asserted.

The two now switched the topic and they talked about hustling. Natalie revealed that she has ever hustled by selling coats and shoes.

When she asked on what was the craziest hustle she ever did, kalala, she said, “I had a gaming place. We had mount televisions. But some thugs were able to get in, steal the play stations and break the screens."

 “As a business owner, there’s nothing more painful when you insert your hand to open the door and you find that your padlock is missing,” she added.

Again Kalala revealed that she has ever had a chicken stand around Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology [JKUAT]. “My parents never knew about it. It was called Kukumanga,”she said jokingly leaving Natalie shocked.

“I come from a top tier family but I want to do something for me. I want to make my dad proud, “she added.

The conversation then shifted as Natalie asked Kalala on what she feels is necessary for media to change in order to support upcoming artists. “Employers should give people a chance. For a person who is coming up, either its talent or creativity, continue doing your best,” Kalala advised.
