Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz has once again found himself at the centre of controversy over his blue Rolls-Royce Cullinan, after Kenyan singer Victoria Kimani appeared to throw shade on the Mic Cheque podcast.
Without mentioning names, Kimani hinted that a certain blue Rolls-Royce “moving around East Africa” is “apparently fake.”
Though Kimani stopped short of naming anyone, fans were quick to connect the dots, pointing towards Diamond’s eye-catching, sky-blue Cullinan—a luxury SUV he has proudly flaunted since 2021 and which reportedly cost over KSh 70 million.
Wasting no time in defending the Bongo Flava star, Diamond’s longtime friend and Wasafi signee Baba Levo hit back on Instagram. Posting a photo of Kimani, he wrote in Swahili:
“Hivi mkimuangalia huyu dada ana u-original gani…!? Yeye ndio fake kila mahali,”
which loosely translates to:
"When you look at this lady, what originality does she even have!? She’s the fake one in every way."
The fierce clap-back sparked a flood of reactions online, with sampled comments revealing a divided fanbase:
@mcgum_cippo:
"Huyu akivua wigi na kutoa hizo nyonyo unaweza mbeba ukidhani ni gunia la viazi ?"
(If she removes her wig and fake breasts, you might mistake her for a sack of potatoes ?)
@aksvinhomedecor: "Mbunge mtarajiwa acha kuchambana mitandaoni ?"
(Aspirant MP, stop fighting on social media ?)
@nayrah_nc:
"Anavaa mpaka nywele feki masikini ?"
(She even wears fake hair, poor thing ?)

The heated exchange has split East African netizens. Some accused Baba Levo of unnecessary pettiness, pointing out that as a parliamentary hopeful in Tanzania’s upcoming elections, such online spats could damage his image.
Others applauded him for defending “Simba”—Diamond’s well-known nickname—arguing that Kimani was simply seeking attention.
This isn’t the first time the authenticity of Diamond’s Rolls-Royce has come under scrutiny. In 2021, rumours swirled suggesting the vehicle was either second-hand or rented.
In response, the Jeje hitmaker posted registration documents and receipts on social media, proudly declaring himself the first East African artist to purchase a “zero-kilometre” Cullinan.
Kimani’s latest remarks have reignited that old debate, fuelling renewed online chatter. Clips from her podcast appearance have already garnered thousands of views, while Baba Levo’s fiery response continues to gain traction on various platforms.
For now, Diamond himself remains characteristically silent, focusing on studio work and teasing fans with hints of an even bigger acquisition—a Bugatti.
But if past behaviour is anything to go by, it won’t be long before “Simba” roars back with receipts in hand to silence the doubters once again.
