Health CS Adan Duale has said that unlike the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) which faced systemic failures, fraud, and inefficiency, SHA operates with strict accountability.

He said 1.8 million informal sector contributors have so far registered and paid their SHA premium in the past eight months.

This exceeds the maximum of one million informal sector contributors that the defunct NHIF ever reached in a year.

Duale said SHA ensures that hospitals are paid by the 14th of every month, guaranteeing smooth operations and uninterrupted healthcare services for all Kenyans.
