Ugandan musician Bebe Cool has shared a terrifying incident that nearly led him to postpone the release of his most recent album, Break the Chains.

The anticipation surrounding the album's release on a Thursday night at Noni Vie in Kampala, Uganda, was palpable as fans and industry colleagues alike gathered to celebrate the culmination of the seasoned musician's artistic endeavors.

However, beneath the glimmering surface of this celebratory event lay a harrowing reality that nearly derailed the entire occasion.

Just as he was poised to share his latest work with the world, Bebe Cool received devastating news.

Upon arriving in Nigeria, where he had traveled to finalize his album plans, his wife, Zuena Kirema, messaged him to share the devastating news that their daughter, Beta Ssali, had been admitted to the intensive care unit due to organ failure.

"My wife informed me via messages as soon as I landed that my daughter was in the intensive care unit and that several of her organs were failing," he said.

The sense of helplessness that accompanied this revelation was palpable, as the artist grappled with the notion of canceling the much-anticipated launch to be at his daughter’s side.

The instinct to rush back to Uganda surged within him, yet the harsh reality of travel logistics thwarted his immediate desires.

"I had paid all the bills to record this album, so I wanted to cancel it and go back to spend more time with my daughter," he said.

"In an attempt to reverse the flight, I called everyone I knew at the airport. But then, there were no flights to Uganda available for the next 12 or 24 hours," he said.

However, in the face of adversity, hope emerged. Bebe Cool reached out to his network, calling on friends and colleagues to assist in any way possible.

Within an hour, seven doctors arrived to treat Beata. "Fortunately, though, seven doctors showed up within an hour of my calls. After that, they began treating each of her organs separately. And this is the adorable little girl."

Bebe Cool eventually released his eagerly awaited album, "Break The Chains," at Noni Vie in Kampala, Uganda on Thursday.
