The UK disbursed significant foreign aid in 2023, with Ukraine emerging as the top recipient, receiving £236.8 million.

Ethiopia followed closely with £216.9 million, while Afghanistan (£171 million) and Syria (£145.5 million) were also major beneficiaries.

Other recipients included Yemen (£144 million), Somalia (£142.6 million), and Sudan (£140.3 million).

Kenya ranked 13th, securing £79.1 million (approximately KSh 13.22 billion).

The aid was directed toward humanitarian assistance, economic development, and social programs.

The substantial funding reflects the UK’s commitment to global development and crisis response.
