West Nyakach chief Seth Agwanda said first snake was discovered in Kabodho by residents who were ploughing a farm along River Sondu using a tractor.

“It seems the tractor’s vibrations caused discomfort, forcing the animal to emerge from its hiding place. They called for help and villagers armed with pangas and spears descended on it,” he explained.

The second incident occurred when the snake slithered into a homestead in Kadiang’a village.

Residents were alerted by the incessant barking of dogs.

Orina said the Kenya Wildlife Service rangers were immediately notified and they recovered the burnt carcasses.
