Patrick Serro
The Kenyan entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Patrick Serro, a former actor known for his role as Dr. Washington in the popular TV series Makutano Junction. Serro passed away on January 25 after experiencing sudden chest pain at home.

His sister, Ascar Serro Ogombe, shared the heartbreaking news on social media. She revealed that Patrick had visited a garage earlier that day before returning home, where he started feeling unwell while watching old videos of himself. Ascar recounted the final moments leading up to his passing:

"After the death of our parents over 30 years ago, you took charge and have been our pillar, always there for all of us. Yesterday (January 25), you left the garage and went straight home. While relaxing and watching your past videos, you felt sharp chest pain. At 4:50 PM, on the way to the hospital, you sent me a message saying you were not feeling well. I rushed to the hospital later in the evening, only to receive the devastating news that you were no more. Go well, my brother Patrick Serro. Till we meet again."

Serro’s passing has left fans and fellow actors in shock. Many remember him for his outstanding performance in Makutano Junction, a show that entertained Kenyans for years. A fan, Abdikarim Hussein, paid tribute to Serro’s talent:

"I loved Makutano Junction. I still believe it to be one of the best TV shows ever to grace our screens. One of the main highlights of the show was Dr. Washington, played by Patrick Serro. He truly lit up that series from the first episode I saw him. It’s sad to hear of his death, and it’s such a tragedy for our entertainment industry."
