Despite unexpected changes due to harsh weather conditions, the event unfolded with a series of key moments marking the historic day.

A Change in Plans
The inauguration ceremony, which traditionally takes place on a specially built stage in front of the US Capitol building, faced a last-minute change due to freezing temperatures and a wind chill of -13°C (9°F).
Organizers decided to relocate the event indoors to the Capitol building's Rotunda, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests.

Meanwhile, thousands of Trump supporters who had traveled to witness the ceremony gathered at the Capital One Arena, where the event was broadcast live on large screens.
Morning Preparations and Church Service
As per tradition, Trump spent the night before the inauguration at Blair House, the official guest residence for incoming presidents, located across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House.
The morning began with Trump, his wife Melania, and incoming Vice President JD Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha, attending a solemn church service at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

The Swearing-In Ceremony
The Capitol’s Rotunda welcomed a distinguished gathering of guests, including former presidents, foreign dignitaries, Trump’s family, and key members of his incoming administration.

As Trump took the oath of office, administered by the Chief Justice, the room was filled with anticipation and applause.

His inaugural address stressed themes of national unity, economic revival, and a renewed sense of patriotism, resonating with his supporters.
Celebration and Protest
At the Capital One Arena, jubilant Trump supporters erupted in cheers, singing along to patriotic songs and enthusiastically following the ceremony’s proceedings on big screens.

However, not everyone shared the same enthusiasm. Across the capital, demonstrators took to the streets in protest, voicing their concerns about the incoming administration and its policies.

A New Chapter Begins
With the formalities concluded, Trump and his entourage departed the Capitol to begin the traditional inaugural parade along Pennsylvania Avenue, heading toward the White House.
