On the Radar: Police continue probe into abduction cases

Security officers are set to continue with their investigations today to unravel the mystery surrounding the release of five abducted social media influencers.

This, as it emerged that 25 other victims are still missing.

Police spokesperson Resila Onyango said Monday they are committed to ensuring all the alleged abduction cases are probed to their logical conclusion.

Migori Murder Probe

Police are investigating murder in two separate incidents where bodies were found in a sugarcane plantation and an irrigation drainage in Migori.

Police said the incidents happened in Awendo and Nyatike.

The first incident happened at a sugarcane plantation where workers stumbled on the decomposed body of a man in Awendo.

Cane cutters reported they stumbled on the remains of a human body while cutting cane at the nuclear farm zone.

Police visited the scene and established that a badly decomposed naked body was lying dead with both hands chopped off just under the elbow and missing.

It is suspected the man had died many days earlier.

The remains were moved to the Migori County Hospital mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

In the Nyatike area, Migori County, the body of one Alex Moni, was found lying in an irrigation drainage system.

Police probe murder in Kiambu County

Police are probing a case where a woman confronted and stabbed to death a man who had reportedly intruded into her house in Kerwa Town, Kiambu County.

Police said they have questioned the woman to obtain more information on the incident that happened at dawn on January 5.

The body of the deceased man was found sprawled in the woman’s house with stab wounds in the chest.

The woman told police the slain man forcefully entered her house without her permission prompting a confrontation that led her to grab a kitchen knife to fight him off.

She told police she was sleeping when she heard commotion from the sitting room.

It was then she confronted the man leading to fatal stabbing. The blood-stained kitchen knife was recovered and kept as murder weapon, police said.
