Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has said she isn’t moved by her political nemesis’s propaganda on social media.

Ndeti said she was focused on delivering development projects to Machakos County residents despite social media campaigns by a few hirelings being misused by some of the politicians eyeing her seat ahead of the 2027 polls.

She, however, urged both the clergy and faithful to pray for her as she serves the public.

“Mimi ninawaomba mapadri, mniombee. Uongozi iko na mambo mingi,” Ndeti said.

Ndeti addressed the faithful when she attended a mass wedding ceremony for thirty-one couples at St. Jude Catholic church in Athi River, Machakos county on Sunday.

She likened her political nemesis to the biblical Cain stating that there was no house without Cain.

In the biblical Book of Genesis, Cain and Abel are the first two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain, the firstborn, was a farmer, and his brother Abel was a shepherd.

The brothers made sacrifices, each from his fields, to God. God had regard for Abel's offering but had no regard for Cain's.

Cain killed Abel and God cursed Cain, sentencing him to a life of transience. Cain then dwelt in the land of Nod ( 'wandering'), where he built a city and fathered a line of descendants beginning with Enoch.

“Kila mtu huwa na Cain wake wa kumsumbua, peddling political propaganda on social media about me, I’m answerable to God, not human beings. Ongea yako, lakini ujue ni nani unaongea yake. Mjue mimi kazi zangu zote nikifanya, ninafanya kama nimemwogopa mwenyezi Mungu. Even if you say I’m what, I will never be,” Ndeti said.

Ndeti said she had a good development track record as a seasonal leader.

“I was your MP, I became number one on the utilization of public funds. Today, the World Bank has rated me as one of the best governors in this country. I’m not shaken because as a Christian, you shouldn’t be shaken,” she said.

She said she was focused on ensuring that county residents had necessary development projects that included tarmacked roads, title deeds for their parcels of land, hospitals and stadia.

The county CEO told all those residing in the county to live in peace with peaceful minds.

She congratulated the 31 couples who wedded at the church. Some were newly married while others renewing their marriage vows.

“ For me, as your mother, is to pray for you. Be with God and take care of your houses. Women who have gotten married today, let’s be women of Proverbs 31, a woman who knows how to fend for herself, bring home and take care of her family,” Ndeti said.

Ndeti said a man who gets a wife, finds a good thing.

“Take care of your wives and love them. Women love to be loved, if you show love to her, you get peace in your home. But, good foundation of a home is God,” Ndeti said.

She encouraged the couples to build their foundations and families in church and God will bless them.

“With God’s grace, you will live well. Marriage isn’t a bed of roses, but you can make your marriage work. We wish you God’s blessings. May God be with you,” Ndeti said.

Ndeti gifted all the 31 couples with a cake each alongside one big one for all of them to feast on at the church as a sign of love.

“As a mother, I have gifted you cakes so that you celebrate at home, 32 cakes. Next time, I want to bring 200 cakes. We will partner with the church so that you continue marrying each other because we must build God’s house. God said we fill the world, we marry one another,” she said.
