Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has expressed confidence in his 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mathematics revision lessons, claiming that 90 per cent of what he taught candidates was tested in the examination.

The legislator shared the remarks on Wednesday, November 4, following the Mathematics Paper One examination, as candidates continued sitting their national examinations.

Babu Celebrates His Revision Predictions

In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Owino said that the topics covered during his revision sessions closely matched what candidates encountered in the examination.

He further claimed that his predictions were 90 per cent accurate, encouraging students who followed his lessons to expect impressive results.

“90% of what we revised was tested, and our predictions were 90% accurate,” he wrote.

The MP went on to express confidence in the effectiveness of his teaching approach, suggesting that candidates who followed his lessons consistently had a good chance of scoring an A plain.

“If you followed everything I taught you, you should get an A plain, even without attending a single class,” he added.

Free Online Lessons Attract Candidates

Owino’s revision programme has attracted attention from students preparing for their national examinations, with the legislator using social media platforms to share lessons on challenging subjects.

His online sessions have covered Mathematics Papers One and Two, alongside other examination areas, including Chemistry practicals.

The initiative dates back to 2020, when he introduced online revision lessons during the COVID-19 pandemic to help students continue learning when schools were affected by restrictions.

Over the years, the sessions have developed into a platform where candidates can access revision materials and follow lessons without necessarily attending physical tuition classes.

His latest remarks have once again drawn attention to the role politicians and other public figures are playing in supporting education through digital platforms.

Claims Spark Conversations About KCSE Preparation

The MP’s statement comes amid ongoing conversations about examination preparation, the importance of revision and the reliability of predictions made ahead of national examinations.

His claims have also attracted scrutiny, with Nairobi County Chief Officer for Environment Geoffrey Mosiria questioning whether the reported accuracy could raise concerns about possible examination leakages.

Mosiria called for investigations into the matter, arguing that any possibility of candidates accessing examination content before sitting their papers should be taken seriously.
