Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, has dismissed speculation that he could return to radio should his political ambitions fail, insisting that he has no plans of going back to the media industry.
The outspoken legislator maintained that although radio remains one of the most lucrative careers in Kenya, he has moved on from broadcasting and does not see himself returning to the profession.

“Radio is still one of the best-paying jobs, lakini sioni nikirudi,” Jalang’o said, making it clear that he is not considering a comeback despite the ongoing conversations surrounding his political future.
His remarks come at a time when questions are emerging about his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election, with the MP setting his sights on the Nairobi Senate seat.
Jalang’o Dismisses Speculation About Radio Comeback
Jalang’o's comments have reignited conversations about his future, particularly after some Kenyans suggested that he could return to broadcasting if his political ambitions do not materialise.
Some critics have questioned his chances of winning the Nairobi Senate seat, arguing that the competitive political landscape could make his journey to the Senate difficult.
However, the former radio presenter appears determined to pursue his political ambitions rather than consider returning to his previous career.
His remarks also suggest that despite acknowledging the financial benefits of working in radio, he no longer sees broadcasting as part of his professional journey.
From Radio Superstar to Lang’ata MP
Before joining politics, Jalang’o enjoyed a successful broadcasting career, becoming one of the most recognisable voices in Kenyan entertainment radio.
His humour, energetic presentation style and ability to connect with audiences helped him build a huge following, making him a household name in the local entertainment industry.

His popularity eventually opened doors to politics, where he contested and won the Lang’ata parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election.
Since entering Parliament, Jalang’o has remained a prominent figure, often attracting attention through his public appearances, political statements and interactions with Kenyans.
His transition from entertainment to politics has been one of the notable career shifts in Kenya's public sphere.
