Search and rescue operations are ongoing at a collapsed multi-storey building in Eastleigh, Nairobi, amid challenges posed by confined spaces and limited access to the debris. National Disaster Management Unit Director Duncan Ochieng says rescuers remain focused on locating people trapped beneath the rubble. Ochieng noted that survival depends on several factors, adding that while the first 72 hours are critical, an uninjured person could survive for up to two weeks under favourable conditions.
