The Council of Governors is urging the National Treasury to expedite the release of funds owed to counties to prevent disruptions to essential services. Speaking at the 30th Annual Human Resource Management Conference, council chairperson Muthomi Njuki, said funding delays had forced some counties to suspend some services for months. He cited the newly recruited Universal Health Coverage staff, who have joined county payrolls, but the national government has not released funds to cater for their salaries.
