Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has cautioned county employees against borrowing from banks and microfinance institutions charging high interest rates. Speaking at Wambugu Farm during the transition of staff from contract to permanent and pensionable terms, Kahiga said some workers were trapped in huge debt due to predatory lending practices. He urged employees to consider Sacco loans and affordable banking options, advising them to carefully assess interest rates and repayment terms before borrowing.
