The Director of Public Prosecutions has secured a death sentence against former USIU-Africa student Duncan Livingstone for murdering his colleague, Sarah Akello in Kiambu County in 2012. Justice Kanyi Kimondo found that Kimathi deliberately lured and abducted the final-year International Relations student before demanding a 100,000-shilling ransom from her family. The court ruled that the murder involved malice aforethought, following prosecution evidence from 17 witnesses.
