Detectives in Makueni county have launched investigations after the body of an unidentified middle-aged man was found dumped along a rough road in the Pipeline area of Nzaui subcounty.

The body was discovered on October 20 at around 7pm along a road leading to nearby farmlands, police said.

Police said they found the body of the unidentified man with visible injuries and his hands tied with a rope, raising suspicions that he may have been murdered elsewhere before being dumped at the location.

Police said the body had been abandoned by unknown persons, with the motive behind the incident yet to be established.

The scene was documented by investigators before the body was moved to Makindu mortuary for preservation.

A postmortem examination was expected to help establish the cause of death, while police pursue efforts to identify the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Investigations into the suspected murder are ongoing.

And detectives in Trans Nzoia county have arrested a man suspected of murder as investigations continue into a serious assault and murder incident.

The suspect was arrested on October 20 at his house in the Pentagon area of Lughuna sublocation, following an intelligence-led operation by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Trans Nzoia West.

Police officers searched the suspect’s house but did not recover any weapon believed to have been used in the alleged murder.

The detectives subsequently proceeded to a second house of a local, who is suspected of being an accomplice in the incident.

However, the suspect was not found at the residence and remains at large, with police expected to pursue efforts to arrest him.

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel processed and documented the second house, which investigators believe may have served as a secondary crime scene.

The evidence collected is expected to assist detectives in piecing together the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was found along a murram road at Del Monte Farm in Ithanga/Kakuzi, Murang’a county.

Police said they found the body lying beside the murram road, with old bruises on the face. Police also observed foamy saliva oozing from the man’s mouth and nose.

The report indicated that the body appeared well-nourished, with no fresh injuries observed during the initial examination.

A search conducted on the deceased did not yield any identification documents, leaving police unable to establish his identity immediately.

DCI officers documented the scene before the body was moved to Murang’a Level 5 Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending identification and a postmortem examination.

The cause of death remains unknown, and investigations are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
