Months after heavy rains caused landslides in Chesongoch, claiming over 30 lives and wiping away entire villages, hope has returned to Elgeyo Marakwet County. First Lady Rachel Ruto has today handed over 53 newly built homes to displaced families. Spearheaded by the Central Bank, NYS and key partners, the 60-million-shilling project offers survivors security and a fresh start ahead of expected El Niño rains.
