Agricultural extension officers have convened in Nairobi for a two-day national conference themed “From Silos to Systems” to assess progress in strengthening sustainable food security. The fourth national conference has called for professionalizing the sector, addressing fragmentation and eliminating duplication of roles. Officers also raised concerns over severe understaffing in public extension services, urging greater private sector involvement and innovative approaches to bridge staffing gaps and improve service delivery.
