World Health Organization Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus has called for a unified regulatory approach to ensure artificial intelligence is used safely, ethically and equitably in healthcare. Speaking at a WHO Regional Committee meeting in Manila, Philippines, Tedros said the framework must strengthen rather than fragment health systems, and ensure that countries with fewer resources are not left behind.
