The Water Resources Authority has raised concern over encroachment on water catchment areas, urging Kenyans to protect the environment to prevent soil erosion and landslides. Led by board chairperson Donald Murgor, the agency warned that the destruction of catchment areas threatens environmental conservation and community safety. It also called on Kenyans to participate in the national tree-growing initiative, which aims to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
