Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has condemned the arrest of Royal Media Services journalist Francis Ode while covering protests against recent fuel price hikes in Nairobi. In a statement, Kalonzo termed yesterday’s arrest unconstitutional and arbitrary, saying it violated constitutional guarantees on freedom of expression, media freedom and the right to peaceful assembly and demonstrations. He stressed that these are fundamental rights, not privileges granted at the discretion of those in power.
