Former The Real Househelps of Kawangware (TRHK) actor Onyi has issued a direct plea for work to musician and politician Jaguar. His appeal comes days after Jaguar stepped in to support ailing singer Marya with medical bills during her stroke recovery.
Onyi's request arrives months after a video surfaced online showing him on a dusty roadside in difficult financial circumstances.
A Direct Appeal for Employment
In a recorded message, Onyi confirmed that he received word about Jaguar's willingness to assist public figures. However, the former television star emphasised that he prefers sustainable employment over temporary financial handouts.

"Jaguar. Thanks, nimepata message kutoka kwa my dear sister," Onyi said. "Na nafeel poa."
He urged Jaguar to help him secure a reliable job to rebuild his stability.
"If you're willing to help, you got to do it," Onyi stated. "Na kitu ile naeza taka sana, make sure tu God willing, in future, nikuwe tu na ka work kangu ka kufanya," he added. "Na nisikose kakitu ka kufanya."
Onyi openly shared his current financial distress and highlighted his family responsibilities. He noted that several dependents rely on him for daily upkeep.
"Juu niko broke," Onyi admitted. "Thank you, and I got a family, I don't lie about that. Niko na Watoto wengi na hao wote they depend on me, kindly," he concluded.
Jaguar’s Support for Singer Marya
Onyi's appeal followed Jaguar's recent intervention for veteran Kenyan musician Marya. Marya, famous for her hit single Chokoza, has been recovering from a stroke. Jaguar stepped in to assist with her medical expenses and rehabilitation support.
Geoffrey Mosiria Responds to Onyi’s Video
Following Onyi's appeal, Nairobi Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria expressed deep concern over the actor's situation. Mosiria noted that Onyi appeared to be experiencing significant hardship.
“We need to address the challenges he may be facing so that he can get back on his feet and have a better chance of rebuilding his life,” Mosiria said.
Mosiria suggested assessing Onyi's health before establishing any business setup.
“Before Jaguar helps him set up the business he has requested, I believe we should first establish whether he needs psychosocial support, medical attention, or rehabilitation services," he explained.
He expressed full personal willingness to facilitate medical care or therapy. "I am personally willing to step in and help," Mosiria affirmed. "If he needs psychosocial support, I am ready to facilitate it."

Months of Financial Hardship
Onyi's plea follows months of concern regarding his welfare. In September 2026, a clip showed him walking along a dusty road in a grey faded hoodie and green Shrek cap.
The actor previously revealed facing homelessness in 2022 after COVID-19 disruptions led to TRHK leaving the airwaves. Due to unpaid rent in Umoja, he relocated to his sister's rental property in Syokimau.
