COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has urged NSSF and its board of trustees to resist political pressure ahead of the 2027 elections, dismissing claims by some MPs that contributors are being denied benefits. Atwoli said the allegations overlook the fund’s significant growth, noting that its portfolio had risen from KSh 312 billion to KSh 814 billion over the past three years. He said NSSF was now on course to become a trillion-shilling fund and one of Africa’s leading social security institution.
