Human rights defenders and activists have called for nationwide peaceful demonstrations tomorrow to protest rising fuel prices and the high cost of living. Operating under the banner of Concerned Citizens of Kenya, the group is urging the government to slash petroleum taxes, review levies and an independent audit of the energy sect. The group urges officers to protect protesters, while appealing to transport operators to join in solidarity and calling on participants to remain peaceful.
