Kenyan-born comedian and content creator Elsa Majimbo has hit back at strangers who have accused her of using drugs, insisting that she has never touched the substances despite speculation about her lifestyle.

In a statement shared on Thursday, October 15, Majimbo expressed frustration with people who judge her based on her appearance and personal choices, arguing that her way of dressing should not be interpreted as evidence of substance abuse or mental health problems.

“I’ve had strangers calling me a junkie when I have never done drugs in my life. Not once. Dressing how I want and doing what I want doesn’t make me mentally unwell,” she wrote.

Elsa Majimbo Addresses Claims About Drug Use

Majimbo said her decision to speak out was not motivated by a desire for sympathy but by a need to clarify her position to her audience.

She expressed concern that young followers might associate her public image with drug use, maintaining that the allegations did not reflect her lifestyle.

“It’s such a shame because so many young minds look up to me. Drugs are not cool. Stay in school. Be kind. Love Elsa,” she added.

The content creator further explained that she did not consider herself a victim and wanted her message to be understood in that context.

“This caption isn’t to seek sympathy. I’m blessed. Not a victim. It’s to make it clear for the kids that look up to me that’s not what I’m doing, and I don’t think it’s a path anyone should take,” she stated.

Her remarks came amid continued public discussion about her appearance, fashion choices and the changes in the type of content she shares online.

The comedian subsequently expanded her presence beyond social media, building an international profile and relocating to the United States.

However, her evolving public image has also attracted scrutiny from some internet users, with her personal choices becoming subjects of online discussion.

In April 2026, Majimbo addressed similar speculation in a video, saying that her reduced online activity did not mean she was experiencing a problem.

She explained that she was naturally reserved and did not always want to appear online entertaining people.
