Kenyan content creator and DJ Pritty Vishy abruptly halted her birthday speech at a Nairobi nightclub after a fan in the crowd shouted the name of her ex, Stevo Simple Boy.

The appearance took an unexpected turn just as she was wrapping up a heartfelt thank-you speech. The shout brought the celebratory mood to a grinding halt.

A vertical clip of the moment shows a festive venue lit by neon diamond signage and string lights, with hanging greenery along the walls.

Holding the microphone, Pritty addressed guests in a cheerful tone and thanked the organisers for the invitation.

“Thank you so much for inviting me. You know me and Katie, actually I’ve never met. This is the first time when you actually invited me to do it,” she said.

Moments later, the crowd erupted.

The shout of “Stevo Simple Boy!” sparked laughter and murmurs. Visibly irritated, Pritty paused mid-sentence and glanced at the crowd, while the DJ turned down the music. She tried to move on.

The history behind the heckle

Pritty entered the public eye in 2021 after confirming her relationship with Kibera-born rapper Stevo Simple Boy, known for the hit Mihadarati and the catchphrase “Freshi Barida”.

The pair’s break-up was messy and public. Stevo said he was observing a vow of celibacy before marriage. Pritty blamed interference from his family.

The pair have stayed linked in public conversation since the split.

In July 2026, Pritty claimed on the Iko Nini Podcast that Stevo rejected a KSh 1 million influencer deal so he would not have to work with her. “Hanipendi... ako na grudge na mimi because I broke up with him,” she said. Stevo dismissed the claim.

Earlier in the year, her debut DJ set ended in tears after faulty equipment brought it to a halt. Stevo offered words of encouragement: “Najua kuna changamoto mingi lakini usife moyo.”

Pritty responded coolly. She later shared a boxing-themed graphic that fans widely interpreted as a challenge to him.
