The incident occurred during the Africa Commerce and Industry Summit 2026 in Nairobi, where Elijah, the host of Young Millionaire Talks, approached the veteran broadcaster hoping to secure an interview.
Jeff appeared to be engaged in a conversation with another person when Elijah approached him with his camera.
The young content creator attempted to introduce his platform and explain that he wanted to interview the veteran journalist.

However, the interaction did not go as planned. In the circulating footage, Jeff appears to wave Elijah aside as he continues moving, telling him, "Let's talk later, young man."
The journalist then walks away without stopping for the requested interview.
The encounter lasted only a short time, but the footage attracted attention because of the contrasting positions of the two men, with one being an established media personality and the other an emerging content creator seeking an opportunity to grow his platform.

Elijah also described the encounter as an opportunity to learn and grow, suggesting that being in the same room as established personalities was part of his journey.
