President William Ruto has dismissed critics calling for the scrapping of the Road Maintenance Levy Fund, insisting it has transformed Kenya’s infrastructure. He said the RMLF has cleared pending bills owed to road contractors and financed ongoing projects. According to the President, the ongoing construction of 6,000 kilometres of roads nationwide has ended what he called the “politics of discrimination” in project allocation.
