Kenya recorded 11.12 billion cyber threat events in the last financial year, a 29 per cent increase from 8.62 billion in the previous year. The Communications Authority figures were highlighted during the fourth Safaricom Cybersecurity Summit in Nairobi, which focused on strengthening digital security amid growing artificial intelligence-enabled threats, including deepfakes, impersonation, automated scams and ransomware.
