Women and youth are being urged to take a leading role in preventing election-related violence ahead of the 2027 General Election. Kilifi County Director of Gender and Youth Affairs Mwangome Shumaa says empowering women to mediate conflicts, champion peace and participate in leadership can help resolve disputes from the family level upwards. Peace stakeholders are calling for greater community involvement to safeguard security during the election period.
