Following the resurgence of illicit alcohol in the Mt Kenya region, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has warned manufacturers that their days are numbered. Speaking in Kabete, Kiambu County, Kindiki said the government had changed its strategy by targeting manufacturers directly. He warned that factories involved in the illicit trade would be seized, with proceeds used to rehabilitate victims. Kindiki vowed that the government would not relent in its crackdown on illicit alcohol.
