Women have been warned against abusing painkillers to relieve menstrual cramps, as they may expose them to health complications. Reproductive health expert Linda Martina says the medication may sometimes cause changes in menstrual patterns and lead to increased pain during subsequent periods. She has also urged women and girls to visit health facilities if they experience excessive pain during menstruation.
