Africa has about 200,000 cybersecurity positions yet to be filled, representing a shortage equivalent to 23 per cent of the continent’s current workforce. A Mastercard-commissioned report identifies skills development and cooperation between governments and businesses as key to strengthening cyber defences. It also highlights the role of the Africa Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in sharing threat intelligence and improving preparedness.
